Smriti Irani, India's trade union minister, said recently that the United States, Britain and even Europe have their own size standards for clothing, but India regrets the lack of them, which is one of the biggest challenges facing India's clothing export sector. But according to her, India will soon have its own set of standards in the textile and clothing industry.
At this year's Gujarat Global Summit, Smriti Irani said that he would do a related research work before introducing & ldquo; Indian Size & rdquo; and clothing measurement projects.
She reiterated that one of the biggest challenges facing Indian companies in the field of garment export is the lack of their own size standards, such as 42, 44 and XL. However, & ldquo; India Size & rdquo; will soon be promoted throughout India, which may be the first project in Indian history.
Smriti Irani said that over the past four and a half years, the central government, led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has allocated more than 18 billion rupees to Gujarat to upgrade the technology of the textile industry. With the new distribution system, another 300 billion rupees of new investment has entered the textile industry. She also announced a study to measure domestic demand in the textile market.
She said that India was able to meet the huge market demand at home and abroad, but in its history, there has never been a study to determine the strength and size of its domestic market. & The upcoming statistical research will categorize the needs of the Indian domestic market and make it the foundation of Building & lsquo; Indian size & rsquo; and creating and strengthening the garment industry & rdquo;.
