As of November 30, there were 9 cotton-producing provinces, 926 400-type cotton processing enterprises in Xinjiang (autonomous region, construction corps), Shandong, Hebei, Gansu, Hubei, Jiangsu, Anhui, Tianjin and Henan provinces. In 2018, 13.48 million bales of new cotton were sent for inspection, totaling 3.34 million tons, a decrease of 3.35% compared with the same period last year. The four main quality indicators (color grade, fiber length, micronaire value and breaking strength) of public inspection increased year on year. Next, the author combines the quality index data and related charts published by the public inspection network to reveal the number of new cotton public inspection in November 2018 and the year-on-year situation of the main quality index of public inspection.
1. Quantity of inspection delivery
As of 24:00 on the 30th, 736 enterprises in Xinjiang cotton area (614 in autonomous region and 122 in construction corps) sent 12.9 million bales of new cotton for inspection in 2018, a decrease of 5.40% over the same period; 83 enterprises in Shandong Province sent 45,792 bales of new cotton for inspection, an increase of 43.82% over the same period; 43 enterprises in Hebei Province sent 74,283 bales of new cotton for inspection, a total of 16,631 tons, a decrease over the same period. A total of 12 enterprises in Gansu Province sent 57267 bales of new cotton for inspection, which was 12864 tons, an increase of 14.08% over the same period of last year; 1 enterprise in Jiangsu Province sent 15992 bales of new cotton, which was 3638 tons, an increase of 58.20% over the same period of last year; 4 enterprises in Hubei Province sent 14362 bales of new cotton, which was 3207 tons, a decrease of 36.40% over the same period of last year; 5 enterprises in Anhui Province sent 6668 bales of new cotton, which was 1498 tons, a decrease over the same period of last year. 12.27%; a total of 1841 bags were sent to Tianjin by 7 enterprises, accounting for 395 tons, a decrease of 33.25%; a total of 796 bags were sent to Henan Province, accounting for 180 tons, which was zero in the same period last year. The following chart shows that the number of new cotton submitted for inspection in Xinjiang cotton area occupies an absolute predominance in 2018, with Xinjiang cotton area accounting for 97.18% (autonomous region accounting for 63.52%, Construction Corps 33.66%), inland cotton area accounting for 2.82% (Shandong Province accounting for 1.53%, Hebei Province for 0.56%, Gansu Province for 0.43%, Jiangsu Province for 0.12%, Hubei Province for 0.11%, Anhui Province for 0.82% (Shandong Province for 1.53%, Hebei Province for 0 05%, 0.01% in Tianjin and 0.01% in Henan.
2. Main Quality Indicators
_The color grade index increased year on year. As of the 30th day, 91.93% of white cotton grade 3 and above in the national new cotton inspection in 2018, up 0.81 percentage points from the same period last year.
Fiber length index increased year on year. As of the 30th day, 95.82% of the new cotton fiber length of 28mm and above in 2018, up 1.24 percentage points from the same period last year.
_The micronaire index increased year on year. As of the 30th day, in 2018, the national new cotton public inspection mark A + B (3.5-4.9) accounted for 82.84%, up 7.67 percentage points from the same period last year.
_Fracture strength increases year on year. As of the 30th day, the breaking strength S2 (29.0-30.9) and above in the national new cotton inspection accounted for 39.84%, up 8.41 percentage points from the same period last year.
