Burma's garment exports are expected to exceed $3.3 billion in fiscal year 2018/19

Myanmar Voice News reported on November 20: According to Du Kailei, Secretary-General of the Myanmar Garment Association, Myanmar's garment exports in fiscal year 2013/14 were only US$0.9 billion, reaching US$2.7 billion by fiscal year 2017/18. Since 2013, exports have been growing steadily every fiscal year. Accordingly, it is estimated that the fiscal year 2018/19 is expected to exceed $3.3 billion. It is reported that in 2013, there were only 250 garment factories in Myanmar, and up to now there are more than 500 garment factories, double the original number.
