Textiles are an important export industry in our city. According to the latest statistics of Ningbo Customs, the total export volume of textile clothing and yarn in Ningbo reached 90.369 billion yuan in 2018, an increase of 6% over the previous year.



Under the background of market demand warming up, the international textile export market is still facing a great test. On January 2, the International Association for Environmental Protection Textiles issued the certification standard of STANDARD100 for eco-environmental protection textile products of the 2019 edition. The new edition of the standard poses a new challenge to the textile export of our city.



It is understood that STANDARD100 certification standard for eco-environmental textile products is currently recognized as the authoritative eco-textile standard in the global textile industry. Many high-quality purchasers in Europe and the United States use Oeko-Tex Standard 100 standard as the technical basis for product procurement.



According to the responsible person of Ningbo Customs, on the one hand, the new edition of the ecological textile standards will include a variety of highly concerned substances, including benzene, quinoline, ammonium salt, selenium, glyphosate and barium metal, and on the other hand, more stringent limits on phthalate esters (plasticizers), perfluorine and polyfluorinated compounds have been imposed.



In recent years, the requirement of residues in export textiles has become more and more stringent in the international market. The introduction of the new edition of eco-textile standards has put forward new requirements for the production process and quality supervision of China's textile export enterprises. It is reported that the new version of ecological textile standards will come into effect on April 1, 2019, after a three-month transition period. Ningbo Customs calls on textile export enterprises to attach great importance to it. In the whole production chain of products, they should pay close attention to and master domestic and foreign technical regulations and standards in a timely manner, and carry out production and self-inspection in strict accordance with the requirements of relevant laws and standards. To control harmful substances, qualified laboratories are entrusted to carry out tests to ensure that the ingredients in the products strictly conform to the limit value standards.
