The list released on the same day by the European Union covers a wide range of products, from aircraft to chemicals and agricultural products. The EU will conduct public consultation on this list. The EU said that the final tariff on US goods would also take into account the WTO arbitration decision in the Boeing subsidy case.



The anti-subsidy dispute between the United States and the European Union, which focuses on Boeing and Airbus, has a long history. In 2004, the United States filed a lawsuit against the World Trade Organization accusing the European Union of providing illegal subsidies to Airbus in various forms, and the European Union subsequently sued the World Trade Organization against the United States Government for providing huge illegal subsidies to Boeing. In this regard, the WTO has ruled that both the United States and the European Union have the problem of providing illegal subsidies to their aviation enterprises.



The U.S. government has accused the European Union of illegally subsidizing Airbus of adversely affecting the United States. On the 8th, the US Trade Representative Office initiated the procedure of Article 301 of the US Trade Law of 1974 to impose tariffs on EU imports worth about $11 billion.
